As the number of Alzheimer’s cases rises each year, many people are wondering about possible cures and advanced treatments.
Many primary care physicians don’t have the expertise to identify and treat those with Alzheimer’s. As a result, many seniors also go un-diagnosed or misdiagnosed until their illness is in its advanced stages. However, there are some who are on the front lines of possible treatments for Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.
Dr. Huntington Potter is Professor of Neurology and the Linda Crnic Center for Down Syndrome. Dr. Potter is also the Director of the Rocky Mountain Alzheimer’s Disease Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center.
Recently, Dr. Potter spoke at the Arvada Center Ballroom and helped educate those in attendance about new Alzheimer’s medical trials, and possible treatments in the near future.
