We are so happy with our decision to move our mother from Amira to Applewood. The care is far and above better and safer.

Mom has been there since 2016, they are kind and engaging. They take great care of her!

My mother was previously in a brand shiny new memory care that was beautiful but unfortunately unsafe. She is much safer now at Applewood. The model is ideal for anyone who needs eyes in them frequently, whether it’s from risk of falls or other reasons. And the attention she has received from the activities director Norma has been extraordinary- her nails, haircuts, and other special pampering. There is even a dog and a garden in the back yard. Thank you Applewood for such great care!

My father has been at Applewood for about 8 months, it is better than we could of prayed for. He is more loved, cared for and safe than we could have hoped for. The staff are absolutely amazing, true angels take of care him.

Hello, everyone. When I first visited this place.I thought it was amazing. Better than a nursing home.It makes the residents feel like they are at home in a big house. The staff is very friendly and caring for the residents, they keep the. Place very clean and go on. Great excursionthat gets the residents out of the house. I like that. They served delicious meals. You can call or go over at any time. One of the residents is a femail Doug dog call Dori. She gives out good vibes to the residents. They also have special events for the holidays. I enjoy that because my mother liked the holidays. I am not able to bring her to my house anymore. So I appreciate that. There isn't enough. I could say about the staff.They are so friendly. There is a lot of struggles taking care of some of them. Residents and they have a lot of patience. They are absolutely wonderful. From my heart, I appreciate all of you. I very much appreciated the care my husband received for the last part of his life. The staff helped us get hospice care and were so supportive during this difficult time.

While visiting the house, the atmosphere was calm and inviting. The residents were socializing and relaxed and the staff we’re supportive and complementary of their coworkers.

My mother moved to Applewood Our House in September 2024. The dog Dolly was a selling point and the entire philosophy of the "old dog"... Sadly my mother experienced a fast decline from independence to assisted living to memory care in what I will call "turbo Parkinsons". The personalized attention and care plans that AOH set forth were impressive. Also in paying attention to how the other residents were cared for helped to show me that my Mom would be in good hands. My regret is that I didnt find AOH sooner, she spent 3months at a facility which was not a fit and she declined. On the night that my momma passed away, the house dog, Dolly went into her room to sit vigil with her until she passed and then also stayed by her side until coroner came. My MomCat was my first best friend, am still not sure how this world looks without her in it.

As a care manager, I work with many communities. I recognize those with mental health and cognitive challenges have been dealt a challenging hand. It truly take a village to do it right. The Golden house with Lea and her team along with many others jumping in supported my client until it was time for her to say goodbye here on earth. Lea has an amazing way of never giving up on someone no matter how difficult it can be. Her team stands beside her and they follow in the same footsteps. If you are looking for a forever place for your loved one or a client, as I was, do not hesitate to see what Applewood offers.

Applewood is AMAZING! My family member has been a resident for several months and the quality of care he receives is beyond wonderful. Lea, Izzy, Brie, Brisa, both Gabbie’s and Jasmine are so caring. You won’t have to worry about your love one in such a clean and caring home.

Applewood is the greatest assisted living home. All the staff caregivers are so loving and caring about each resident. The food and engaging activities are wonderful. It is wonderful to have such a home environment and not institutional. This truly was the BEST place for my mom during her last year. Highly, highly recommended!

Our family member who had been residing at Applewood Our House #5 passed away today. I can’t say enough about how the staff and facility were far and beyond what we could have expected. We were navigating uncharted water and the staff were compassionate and fully engaged. We never felt that our family member was just being managed; In fact, we observed that she was truly being CARED for. Because of this, our family member lived out her days with dignity and kindness. We are so thankful for Applewood Our House #5, Carrie, Raven and the rest of the staff for ushering us through a highly emotional and difficult stage of life. Thank you Applewood #5!

What a Truly Phenomenal HOUSE for dementia residents!!! All of the staff are genuinely invested in every single resident individually. My Mother lived there for over a year and I am eternally grateful for all the kindness, care and LOVE that flows seamlessly throughout every day!! My Mom has been living at Yank House for over a year! They have made her feel so special 💓. It was her birthday party today and Lea pulled out all the stops. We played baseball ⚾️ in the backyard and a great time was had by all. Thank you Applewood Our House staff! You rock!

Amazing friendly staff that truly care about their residents

When it comes to memory cares dealing with dementia and behaviors that can accompany dementia Applewood Our House is one of the very best in all of Denver metro.

A very nice property and caring staff for elderly residents focused on enrichment and making the days enjoyable. The facility is bright and cheerful inside and has outdoor access into a courtyard.

My Mother recently became a resident at Applewood Our House in Golden. We are extremely pleased with the care she has received so far. It is a very homey and welcoming community. The house manager and her staff are very dedicated and genuinely care about all the residents. They strive to keep the residents engaged by providing fun activities for them to participate in. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for memory care for a loved one.

This review is about a family (mine) that was actually put back together and given another chance once my husband was completely broken at another Corporate memory care center which will remain nameless in Denver Colorado. Through pure luck, my son was fortunate to get the number of a family owned organization in the Denver area called Applewood Our House in Golden. . My son was able to speak personally to the main director and tell her our long, and very emotional situation which broke not only my husband who in his life before dementia was an extremely intelligent physiology professor at a major University, but the rest of of us as well. My husband at this point was a challenge and very traumatized. Applewood did something that most people could not do or even attempt to do and that is gaining Bill’s trust and giving him his dignity back. The entire staff was amazing! I realized when we were there with him in his last 24 hours that they had made him feel like he was part of a family and there was actually a lot of joy in his life, even though he was struggling with that cruel, hideous disease. My entire life I will never stop thinking about Lea, Ashley their teams and all the others involved in Bill’s daily life and what they did for him. They helped put us all back together after that hellish experience he had in his first facility. We were all pretty broken and they not only made Bill’s life easier and treated him with kindness, continually looking for activities to challenge him , foods he enjoyed, music and movies he enjoyed and anything else that might help gain his trust that they were there to help him and bring some joy and happiness.back into his daily life, especially when we were not able to be there. By being able to do this, they brought the joy back into our lives too. When he started to escalate we were (my 2 adult children daughter in law and I were able to spend his Last week with him 24/7 and were able to see first hand how much they cared for him as not just their patient but as a human being as well. They are all incredible at their jobs, because they have the biggest hearts I have ever seen In any group of people and they always seemed to know exactly what to do or they would work to figure out new strategies when needed. Their empathy along with an abundance of care and understanding makes what they did do day in and day out so successful along with the fact they are all a lot of fun and create such a positive and warm atmosphere which I could feel the moment I walked in the door. We will never forget what they did for my husband and for the rest of us. I was told over and over again by Lea that some day when she called me to talk about Bill I would not automatically expect something negative as that is all I had been use to before Finding Applewood Our House. She was right and Inwas finally able to smile when Insaw her caller ID. 4 days before Bill died we went to visit and were able to spend time with him outside which he loved. (Another thing they tried to make happen for him as often as they could.) All of a sudden, his eyes were clear and he smiled and told my daughter who had just gotten there from Seattle, “Hi”which was his first understandable word to anyone in quite a while. He smiled so large and his blue eyes were clear as a bell . He gave my son a big hug and patted the back of his head like he did when he was little. For over an hour we walked around the backyard and he smiled from ear to ear every time he looked at us, and kissed us all and listened carefully to our conversations. It was like having him back with us and he knew us all, my son, daughter, daughter in law and myself. Even for the few days he had left, he would smile when ever he saw us. We were all together the moment he died and will never forget Applewood for all they did. Martie Barnes♥️

The staff is exceptional. They are professional as well as caring. Many times I have seen them hugging a resident and telling them that they love them. They are always willing to help be it here or in my case advice about various subject matter as I am now alone at home The facility is beautiful always iclean and orderly. I could not have found a better place for my Catty to be cared for.

Had a client that was extremely independent, slight cognitive impairment and difficult to place. However, when we found Applewood Our House my client found her place and thrived!
